GBPVR always picked the right audio channel for me (and still does - but maybe that's cause I set the audio id myself in the scan.cache) but npvr always picks the narrative which is annoying when it is actually a real narrative - not to mention a complete waste of a DD5.1 amp for the few things broadcast in DD5.1.
Thanks again for the logs. I've tried using CoreAVC and I can now play the recorded .ts files back. So it must be something to do with MS H264 win7 decoder and how npvr uses it. Whatever it is, it works OK in GBPVR but not NPVR. Which is a pain as the MS decoder is much better on my setup for BBC HD with VBR. I get corruptions with CoreAVC every now and then on BBC HD which I dont with the MS decoder. Sub, is there something npvr is doing that this codec doesn't like? Or can you play back .ts H264 files with it ok? (I think you have win7 thus have the codec?)

Only remaining problem is that it still insists on picking the NAR audio channel for any channel where an mpeg1 NAR and AC3 audio streams exist (both in liveTV and playing back .ts recordings). Think this is really all that's stopping me being able to move from GBPVR to NPVR - everything else seems to work very well.
