I was going through the same choice vish only a couple months ago. My choices at the time were

- gyration compact
- gyration full size
- btc 9019
- btc 9116
- saturn

I went for the saturn and im very happy with it. Internal trackball which has a smart energy saving feature, 15m range, multimedia keys, and its very slim and lightweight. Got it on ebay for £53 delivered. My thinking was the gyrations while cool were pretty expensive and that was two items to keep track of at the couch instead of one, and as for the btc's, i just didnt like the thought of using a joystick for a mouse but obviously ive never tried it, so..

Just to note the saturn is like a generic (re-brandable) keyboard so there's no concrete brandname and little info on it but you'll see it on ebay as something like '2.4GHz RF Wireless Trackball Keyboard' if your interested.

This one is $35. Range is only 10'+, but I'm very satisfied.

I'm totally new to all this, so here goes my question...is a wireless keyboard and mouse from your couch used for more than gaming? Is this to control GBPVR?

You can use it to control gbpvr or anything else you use your keyboard for. You can hide a small htpc in with your other video components connected to your TV (running GBPVR of course) and run it all wirelessly from the sofa. You can even hide the pc in a different room so you don't have to hear it.

I just picked up the BTC wireless keyboard from PCALCHEMY. I think it identical to the one CaptianVideo is showing branded under a different name. With new batteries I can use it from over 30 feet away, through a wall. They joystick is a little funny to get used to, but it is very functional. You can also configure all the special keys to do almost anything you want. So far so good.
