change "remote control type" and choose the one you want in the dropdown box.

Sorry you misunderstanding me. I have a working remote with GBPVR. I do not find one function only: to start gbpvr.exe after I switched the PC on.

I dont know how that could be done. Maybe there is some magic registry setting we havnt found yet though.
My remote (sorry for the picture).
Regarding how to call GBPVR with remote it's very easy: In the Hip program, go to File -> Preferences -> Alternato input -> Add value, then press the button to which you want the command associated, then click on Execute program button, choose the program you wish execute then OK till end... Enjoy

Hi all,
I am looking for a way to start GBPVR up with the windows button also. Searching around I found this utility for starting up Mediaportal from the "Green button". Unfortantly it would require a code change to start GBPVR vs Mediaportal (I had hoped for a registry entry) so it may take a little work. Are there any windows programmers out there that would be willing to have a crack at it. BTW: I plan on looking into modifying this myself but have to warn anyone who would be waiting that I work in embedded development and have zero knowledge windows api. I was wondering about this too. So there's no way to launch gbpvr.exe from the remote? I'm not very familiar with how the hardware works, but I thought maybe there would be some setting in there that you could use to map the buttons.
Or what about adding something to the Recording Service, so that it will recognize the button being pressed? I think that's how PowerDVD does it, so that when the red DVD/VCD button is pressed, it launches the program (using PDVDServ.exe and adding this to the registry: HKLM\..\Run: [RemoteControl] "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\PDVDServ.exe")

With this setting you can launch GBPVR or change focus to it.

HI,
That will work for the version 2 media center remotes but HIP doesn't support the older remotes that don't light up. Unfortantly I have one these remotes so unless I am mistaken (I would be very happy if I am) I need to find a different way. thanks, Dave |
