I do have a question about this patch, is the comskip patch included with this patch?

sub Wrote:Yes. I've checked this and its working fine here.

Hmm. The comskip-fix patch sub put out on the 17th May fixed my comskip skipping. This 21st May patch broke it again. Re-applying the 17th May patch refixed the skipping action.

If you need any more logs (without the patch), it just happened to me again. I see the problem both with or without Video Archive 3.0, so VA is not the problem by itself. Again, I do not see any pattern. Sometimes a few files will play, and then the next one doesn't.

As usual, you are correct!

But I have another one for you. With this patch applied after I power cycle the MVP I get the following dialog box on my GBPVR pc:

MVP Control Thread Listening on Port: 5906

The MVP will not connect untill I click "OK". Any ideas?

Ah bugger, sorry about that - debug code from another problem I was looking at. The attached version is the same code without the popup message.

I've double checked this again on a clean machine. The comskip stuff is definitly working fine here.

I cant see this same error in your logs. The error I can see is your machine taking too long to respond to a request from the MVP, so the MVP disconnected.

here are the logs
It did fix the problem that was shown in Lindsay and your logs. The related to telling the MVP to seek to the beginning of the stream, before playback had actually started.

The logs you attached to this post didnt show any error. If you reproduce the error, then post the logs again, then I'll take another log. I'm sure it'll be that you havnt applied the patch correctly, or its a different problem though. This previous problem was pretty clear cut, and an easy fix.

Here are my logs from today. Hope this helps. By the way, my MediaMVP is directly connected to the computer, not to a router.

I havnt looked at your logs, but assuming you're having the same problem playing video files, the patch is a few posts up the page.

Thank for looking into this Sub but my problem continues with the latest patch (the one that removes the dialog dated 22 May 2006, 05:37:50)

MVP works properly just once
Menus only after that
Screen goes blank when videos or TV channels selected
Pressing pause shows a length of 1 second on video files.
Until I start pressing buttons on the remote no errors show up in the log

See attached log

Cheers

This problem actually looks different to the original one you posted.

In this log, GB-PVR has only recieved one of the two connections it normally recieves. Its has the control connection which is used for communicating remote control events and for updating the GUI. Its missing the streaming connection which is used playback of files.

Are you sure you havnt left some of the Hauppauge MVP software running? It seems like something else has got this connection.

How many MVP servers do you run?
