I've forwarded you back a copy of your database with an extra two indexes added. Let me know you get on. If it solves the issue for you, I'll advise others how to make the same change for themselves.

Yes, the indexes seem to have made a significant difference.

Now, with the OSD enabled channel changes happen very quickly and with very little studdering. The TV Guide also appears to load much more quickly.

It appears that the database was doing a disk scan before - there was a flurry of HDD activity when I would change channels that does not occur now.

I'm sending you my db3 file from the recreation of the scenario this morning. It appears that 86atc250r has found the key to a workaround that works for me also. If I disable the OSD then changing channels is fast again.

Would you please add the two additional indexes and I will test it out ASAP.

Try running the attached utility. It should create the missing indexes for you.

Seems to have sped up the tv guide by a wide margin, thanks Sub. It used to take about 25 seconds to get the guide up on the MVP.

Works like a charm. No problems changing channels anymore. Same responsiveness as I had with ACCESS.

The only issue I would have right now is that it seems to take about 10-15 seconds to bring up the guide during live tv. After the first time its brought up, the next time it pops up immediately.

Performance is improved getting into the guide but only after it loads the first time, which is still slow. I.E. turn on MVP, go to guide and it takes a long time for the guide to come up, during this time the drive light is on solid (reindexing database?). The next time into the guide it pops right on the screen.
