Thanks again everyone for your suggestions... flyswatta your post is still one of the funniest I've ever seen Big Grin

Anyway, I went with the Thermaltake Black Tenor Case. Even though Provantage is cheaper, by the time you add tax (OH) & shipping, it was within $1 from Tigerdirect. Since I was getting stuff from TD and already had an account, I got it there.

The sad part is that the guy probably can't figure out why his web site hits have gone through the roof, but no-ones buying it Big Grin

Nice choice on the case, hope it serves you well!

Actually, I just gutted an all steel 486 desktop case & am painting it for a friend to use as his media PC & it's starting to look pretty cool.

I may actually purchase this case or something like it.
Take some bondo & a spray can to it along with my dremel to the rear & stick a mATX MB in it.

Yeh, I gutted out an old tape deck/stereo that I bought off Ebay for $20 and fit in a mini-atx mobo with an AMD 1800+ processor. I had to cover up 4 pci slots in order to fit the power supply in.

The cool thing was that I got the "amplifier needles" working for hard drive activity, and had the power and network activity lights working on the front case.

It was a fun project, but with 1 PCI slot it didn't work for me - I needed to be able to fit multiple tuner cards in it. I had it at work for a while as a second pc and novelty item, but then they got all pissy about having non-company computers at work

Now it's sitting in the garage collecting dust :o

I have this case, its rather noisy (for my tastes) in stock form, but I swapped out the supplied fans and remove the metal support above the cpu and it is whisper quiet. I swapped it out to a nsk2400 but only due to the front panel being broken by a young relative of mine (accidently). I will probably get lynched here but in my view its a better case especially when modded. Also dont bother wiring up the front leds they are just too much.
The thermaltake is still used for my other pvr but its out of the way from view.

I modified my case and added switches to turn them on and off at my will.

I'll find out how bright they are in the next few days. If they're really really bright in the dark, they're getting unplugged. But if they emit a nice glow then they'll stay.

My Coolermaster cases are like that. The blue LEDs are like flashlights. Ended up swapping the orange/green lights out of an old Antec case so I could still have some indicators without the threat of inducing siezures amongst the viewers. =)

For parties, you could always hook them up to your "network activity" pins and get a nice strobe effect Smile
