Given your description above, and the error from the logs, it looks like you machine still thinks it has a PVR150 in the machine and has a brown trousers error when the application tries to check which devices are present in the machine (in effect asking the drivers for the device name).

I never had a 150 installed (reinstalled OS on bare metal when I got the 1600). Just installed the 150, it works fine, as does QAM on the 1600. Config still crashes when I try to add the 1600 Analog.

If you dont tick the 'only show devices detected in this machine' checkbox, do you still have this problem?

Yes. Happens regardless, as soon as I hit the OK on the Recording Source -> Settings dialog, after selecting the HVR-1600 (Analog).

...

Just tried it again. This time it worked (after literally dozens of attempts prior). The only difference this time was that I had a recording actually running on the PVR-150 while I added the HVR-1600.

I've attached the logs, if it helps.

I'm having the same issue. This is my first HTPC and my first use of GBPVR. I have AMD 64 X2 4000, Radeon HD 2600XT, Hauppauge 1600 and latest GBPVR. When I try to set the capture card as described above the whole thing just disappears. No error. No DrWatson. It's just gone.

XP install was clean though I did have some initial issues getting .Net. I have .Net 3.0 SP1 installed now. I removed GBPVR and did a clean install after I got .Net installed and am getting the exact same crahes as the others.

Anyone have any ideas?

I noticed this morning that when I click on just 'Show only devices detected' that it crashes as well. Should I return to an earlier version of GBPVR. I chose the Hauppauge HVR 1600 because it was in popular use. Surely others have come across the same thing.

Can you run the filtercheck.exe utility in the gbpvr directory, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log file that gets created.

Here you go sub.

I did a clean install of gbpv after having problems with .Net. It's the only issue I encountered. New/clean build, OS, everything. I reinstalled the Hauppauge drivers from the CD which I confirmed to be the latest drivers after MS found and installed a driver by default. Still crashing.
