stustunz Wrote:just reading what you said if you click on video decoder properties in gbpvr for cyberlink properties cant you select bob in there or have you already?

What screen in the config is that?? :confused: I don't think it's in there. There's the playback decoder, and there's also some place with the interlace settings but those don't do anything.

Also, I would prefer to use AVIVO. And the interlace settings I got the graphedit filter to work with were not in any of the decoders - they were in the VMR9 filter itself (hence, why I get the screwed up video in both AVIVO AND Cyberlink.) Is it possible I have an old or corrupted VMR9 filter? That's the next thing I was going to check.

im talking about just the setting at beside the playback decoder if you click on it you should get the properties of the decoder you have selected
but it sounds like you have already selected it
those registry settings are where its at

I just realized that the .dll for vmr9 is quartz! Does that mean that I should try another quartz.dll? Is there finally a new quartz.dll? Anyhow, if that's not the case, how can I make it so that bob is picked in the vmr9 renderer under pvrx2?

there was some microsoft fix for the quartz issue recent
if it was the quartz at fault then it wouldnt work with other players or outside gbpvr
my thinking is that something is not linked in the registry(or elsewhere) that tells the correct filters to be called

I agree. I ran a filter in graphedit and it didn't work. I then changed the deinterlacer from the drop down within the VMR9 filter, voila, looks good + hardware acceleration. I'm going to try that old quartz tonight that used to be the preferred working one and see what happens. Can't hurt. In the meanwhile, anyone who knows how to manipulate these filters please chime in.

check your registry under what ever decoder you are using and make sure vmr9 is there and enabled
i just had a look at whulston said but i dont have the config file he was talking about (i only have power dvd7 so may be different
but it did show vmr was enabled
when you just try and open a file with graph edit what filters does it put in ?
screen shot would be nice

Oh, it does directshow. But I'm pretty sure that gbpvr forces whatever you choose for decoder + whatever you choose for renderer.

My normal graph is this:
source->directshow->renderer (vmr7)

But I made one like this:
source->ATI decoder->renderer (vmr9 with deinterlacer {8d....})
and that crapped out

Then I did:
source->ATI decoder->renderer (vmr9 with deinterlacer BOB)
and that worked.

ati shit drivers thats why my ati card is back in its box

one more thing to try is remove all cyberlink decoders and just install the latest version
same would go for any other drivers/decoders
also do a video driver clean if you have tried different ones

I'll do some testing later this weekend. Which version of PDVD are you using?
