I have ffdshow configured for mpeg audio and it has options for surround.

I'v never got ffdshow to work properly, don't know why. But does this mean that the MPEG1 Audio setting in NextPVR applies to MP3 and MPA audio also?

Do you mean AC3? We dont really have channels using AC3 in New Zealand, but a few decoders I've tried seemed fine. AC3Filter etc. I dont remember if I tried ffdshow, but I'd assume this would work too - assuming you've enabled AC3 codec support in the ffdshow settings.

No I mean MP3.

There are no broadcasts that use MP3 audio. They either use MPEG1 Layer II, AC3, HE-AAC or E-AC3.

Oh yes, at least two of the norwegian HD channels use MP3. AC3 sound, however, works very well here.

I'm sure they dont broadcast MP3 audio. The DVB spec doesnt allow for this to be broadcast - it only allows for MPEG1 Layer II, AC3, HE-AAC or E-AC3. If you post a sample .ts file, then I'm happy to take a look.

Hi All,

Apologies for butting un on this thread. I realise it is on NPVR - but I have EXACTLY the same problem with BBC HD on GBPVR (1.4.7). The TS recording appears OK and plays well in VLM player and Media player classic - using either CoreAVC, DiVX H264, Cyberlink or ArcSoft decoders, but blow me down I can't get it to work in GBPVR. I have two machines both with NVIDEA cards using the PureVideo decoders where possible which work fine on both, but won't play live HD or recorded TS streams (also not the Dr Who example from this thread).

Oh - and by the way - since I ran into this lead on NPVR - I tried it but it doesn't work in that either.

Any pointers greatfully received - should I start a new thread?

Try playing it in NPVR, then post the npvr.log and I'll take a look.
