You keep changing your description of the problem, or tacking little extra bits on. Just focus on one thing at a time please, or it makes it really difficult for me having to follow a moving target...

Just tell it to record a show that starts in a few a minutes, then after it was due to finish recording, zip and attach the logs. (ie, so I have the full period of the recording in the logs)

So the DVR-MS mux is recording ok? Thats good then. Thats what most ATSC users use. It seems to work the best with ATSC. Cyberlink has seemed flakey with ATSC, but decent with DVB-T/S/C. I havnt had much feedback on the new ATI mux yet, so I dont really know how that works with ATSC.

If you want the recordings to be .mpg files, you can always continue to use the DVR-MS mux and configure it to automatically convert DVR-MS files to MPG files. If you use the ASAP setting, then it happens immediately after the recording. It only takes a minute two since its really just a remux of the file.

maybe ive spoken too soon...because now its not working....

Video start but stutters then video freezes and all i just hear the audio.

Recording no longer works.

Those logs should show why recording doenst work, no?(logs3.zip)

Also analog recording with my pvr 250 is horrible now... dropping frames. I'm wondering if my pc isnt powerful enough? I have it outputting to 1080i, but i cant even tell if it actually is hdtv because the tuner never stays on long enough without dropping frames then freezing.

EDIT: It has nothing to do with 1080i because hdtv signal still freezes up...but analog does work better at 480p...
