I still can't get it to work; Please give me a little more detail on how to enter the key into the registry.

Thanks
Bill

I'm not really sure how to describe it any differently. Run regedit, browse to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Devnz\" key. You should see other values there. Add a new DWORD value called "LogTSWriter" and set it to "1".

Sub,

Those instructions helped. I have attached the results of 3 runs.

record-606.txt is the channel that does not record

record-609.txt is a sub channel of the same station that works fine

record-603.txt is a different station on the same frequency that records fine

Hope this helps

I wish I had seen this thread earlier. Have been working all weekend on the same problem. CBS station is the only one having problem. I can watch and record all other channels. For CBS, I can only watch live TV and getting 0 byte recording.

Moreover, I can record the two subchannels that share the same frequency with CBS without problem. My capture card is ATI 650.

Dave,

Unfortunately, sub does not yet have a fix. I have sent him some info that I hope will help. It must be something about the CBS transport stream but its weird that it does not happen with the sub channels.

Unfortunately I'm out of the country for the next few weeks for work, so not with my development machine to investigate right now.

ok. I don't think this is a real show stopper. In the meantime, if someone really wants a workaround, I have the following observations:

Currently I have GBPVRTSReader.ax (4/7/09) and GBPVRTSMon.ax (3/2/09) and PsiParser.ax (3/2/09). I can not record CBS station and channel scan can no longer find this station either. All other stations are fine.

If I change PsiParser.ax to the one dated 2/5/09 (found here), scan can pick up the problematic channel now. Still no recording.

Next, I replaced GBPVRTSMon.ax with 2/5/09 version found in the same place. Now recording works. However, I can not play the ts file (only for this CBS channel). Use an external player and the file can be played fine.

Last, replacing GBPVRTSReader.ax with 2/5/09 version make the ts file playable.

I have moved back and forth with old and new versions of those files and the results are highly reproduceable. For now, I will just stay with the 2/5/09 version of those files until I encounter something really bugs me.

One more thing, don't forget to re-register filters when you swap any of those *.ax files.

Dave

Just watch out for the timeline goofiness that happens with the older GBPVRTSReader.ax

Bill,

I know there will be complications for going back to older version. However, you can still use new GBPVRTSReader.ax if you don't mind watching CBS recording using an external player. Each .ax filer affect in a very specific area only. Hopefully this finding alone will help nail down the real issue when sub is back.

For me, I'm just happy to see this thread and figuring out which is control by which. I was about to call my cable company to trouble shoot "signal strength issues" before I saw this thread. That will be at least a couple weeks time and some very frustrating exchange with cable guy, all avoid now thanks to this thread.
