ATSC uses MPEG-2, not h.264 for HDTV, so hardware h.264 accelleration wont really help you.

I suspect this is a big part of your problem.

Hmm it actually made a recording!

Windows media player isnt playing it back well at all! The one recording(partial) from last night..which i was watching while it was recording....was great...but in windows media player its black and white

Wait...i take that back.....i disabled ffdshow and it was playing great! Well a lil hiccupy...

Cyberlink dvd player plays it back better..but some thing is set wierd...so its too dark and oversaturated....

Interesting....... My analog source skips just like my hdtv source....

EDIT: I turned off hardware accleration in decoder options and analog is great now...

SDTV digital streams play pretty good...but hdtv just stutters along.. Although in WMP the recordings are great!

Hmm using nvidia decoder with overly has decent playback..but video is over saturated...Like gradients are solid black....its really weird.. but if i change it to vmr7 or 9 . Video picture looks fine, but skips...

EDIT: Some weird setting in nVidia output settings

I think I am having similar problems. I can watch, record and playback fine with beyond tv, but in GBPVR its really stuttering. I have a P4 2.4GHz HT, a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 ultra and a VBOX cat's eye DTA-150. I am just learning here so I haven't caught up to you guys yet with the multiplexer stuff etc... One thing I did notice though is that it seemed when I used Beyond TV that both CPU usage graphs are about the same, but when I use GBPVR one graph sometimes maxes out and the other stays low. Is there a multithreading issue here?

Try using using the overlay renderer, it might work better.

Ultimately, GB-PVR doesnt do the playback itself. Instead it just hands this task over to Directshow. The biggest things you can tweak in directshow that are likely to have an effect on this are:
- the choice of video renderer (Overlay/VMR9/etc)
- the choice of video decoder being used
- the video decoder's DXVA settings

I changed to Overlay Manager on the "PLayback" tab in config, but it didn't seem to help any.

Okay, well thanks for the effort. I think people just want HDTV because it looks so DAMN good, and honestly If it worked I would be willing to pay some for GBPVR cause it works so DAMN good too. It really isn't about the money for me, its about the best program. Anyway, good luck, I wish I could help more, but I don't know if I have the kind of broadband connection you need and I am just learning alot of this stuff so I can't offer any more info. Let me know if there is something I can do though.
