Martin,

With 19/08 I'm having lots of crashes / reboots even testing the EventGost.m3u ... sometimes I get it running through and OCCASIONALLY eventghost records it has having occured.

One thing is relly odd. I am not sure if it is EG Webserver or what. If I run http://192.168.1.10/emptypage.html?mvpmcEvent EG shows it. If I run that again WITHOUT closing IE, it doesn't run it. If I close IE and use that line again, it works

I can run it over and over again and every time I do it works, in my XP Virtual PC session. For IE your problem is probably related to browser caching, but I don't use IE.

Hi Martin

I installed the new 24/8 dongle and can report I have success! On the MVP I can see the A, B A/B, B/A of the DSL Box Nicam Audio change IN SUCCESSION so that is GREAT ... :-) Thank you!

I do still have mvpmc rebooting sometimes when I test the Eventghost.m3u file, which works sometimes, but not always. I guess it doesn't matter now that the Go Green works (sorry that was a bit silly thinking Green=Power, I had the "GreenButton" forum in my head for some reason.

Cheers!

I think this is good news for those that want to use EventGhost. I'm not going to develop it any further unless there is some interest, but it is an easy to use interface. Thanks also for pointing out EventGhost it could be a useful tool. Sorry for not replying to the email. During the day on weekends I just "sneak" onto the computer between chores.

The logic is really the same, I think the only difference is I prevent you from sending the commands too close together with Go Green. This safety caused the work to double to 21 lines though, so we will have to renegotiate the contract.

Martin,

I've recently added a Satellite Box....which has the same NICAM thingy. Any chance of adding a few more Go <colours> for various other events like NICAM on New Box, BoxA on, BoxA Off, Box B on Box B off ... Big Grin ?

I'll think about it, but since I am not planning on adding a command line option to specifiy the eventghost server if you move the mvps server you might break the functionality and you will need to use the m3u method anyway.

mvallevand Wrote:If that works something is wrong with the EventGhost webserver. Maybe it is being blocked by a firewall, something else is on port 80 or you need to configure it to allow external connections. Martin

Hi Martin,

I'm (almost) done with my new Vista conversion from my old PC (in Sig) to my new Quad Core. However I have issues with Eventghost (EG), and the forum at EG said it was a webserver error. However even with Firewall off the error persists.

Code:
---> Welcome to EventGhost <---
Autostart
Plugin: USB-UIRT
Plugin: Webserver
Exception in thread Thread-4:

I tried turning the Windows VISTA firewall off completely (temporarily), but it does not help. Could it be a router setting? I thought port 80 was generally open?

I had this working in Windows XP but my recent install with Vista gives me this message. Any pointers for what to try next?

Thanks! I've checked shares for the file "eventghost.m3u" and "emptypage.html", both have Guest Access Read + Write, both are in my mvpmc share.:confused::confused:

Thanks, presumably it is not the firewall and the Port is 80 ... how do you recommend I find out what is blocking it?
