I just wanted to add that the patch has helped with Webadmin quite a bit. Searches are quite a bit faster now as well as the guide.

If it helps narrow down the tipping point for this problem, I have 80 channels and loading 4 days was almost instantaneous. Then I switched to 9 days and the initial (and subsequent 2-hourly loads) now takes 15 to 20 seconds.

I concur with User's take that the mini-guide has what might be a different problem since the symptoms are worse (and presumably it's loading less data). Not only slow to come up but also causes wild stuttering in live TV and sometimes causes me to lose audio completely so I have to restart live TV. It's so bad that I've pretty much stopped using it.

Which mini-guide are you guys talking about? Ctrl-G or F1?

I press guide on the remote while watching TV - whatever that one is... that is the mini guide I have issues with like they do. I have made some changes for the next release that should help you with that.

The "mini-guide" is actually Ctrl-G, which is something different to that. You're talking about the other small version of the tv guide (no specific name for it) which pops up when you press F1.

I experience the problem with F1 (or Guide button on Hauppauge remote). By contrast, the program description comes up really fast (instantly) on hitting Ctrl-G.

I was confused by the naming, also. Seems like the F1 display should be called "mini-guide" and the Ctrl-G one something like "OSD Description".

Can you let me know if the attached patch is any quicker for this small version of the tv guide over live tv?

When you test it, let GB-PVR run for a minute or so before starting live tv. This would be the normal case anyway, and should use the guide info that has already been loaded in the background.

This patch seems to totally fix the problem. Both the regular TV guide (from the main menu) and the mini-guide (or whatever it's called - the F1 thingy) come up instantly with no disruption of live TV at all.

Unfortunately, this patch also seems to "fix" my fullscreen display's aspect ratio (or overscan) since the Windows desktop is now visible at the edges of the GB-PVR display. Toggling back and forth between fullscreen and windowed display doesn't fix it either.
