Twinhan DVB-s 1025(7)

I know this is an old thread but I'm thinking of doing this with a 1027 card and my 8.5' C/Ku dish. I had a similar set-up a few years ago with a 1020 card but that was pre-GB-PVR. My main interest now is in the PBS channels on AMC-3. I'll probably slave it off my C-band receiver. Seems like a good way to get some use out of the dish since there's not much there any more otherwise.

So, how is it working out for you guys? Still using it? Does it work with GB-PVR?

I've been trying to get my twinhan 1027 card running in Vista with my dual core amd 4600 setup. It seems to install the drivers from twinhans site just fine with out any complaints but does not find any channels when scanning. Its like its not getting a signal but I know there is a good signal. This setup seemed to work fine on my amd 2600 xp processor and xp sp2. Anyone have this card running with Vista and if so can you tell me with what driver and where to find it? Thanks.

It did not work in myTheatre either. Which is why I think its more of a Twinhan driver issue than an application issue. I had it working in both on my other system, which I plan to test again this weekend when I get a chance. When it was working in the other system, you would see a signal strength when it was going through the transponders and on this system its not doing that.

Ah, ok. Yeah definitely sounds like drivers or something similiar.

FYI, on my 1027 card (on XP) I could see signal strength on GBPVR, but my 1025 does not show it when scanning. I think it will while watch TV though. Both cards show strength on MT so I would think it is a driver issue.

I have read around googling 1027 and vista and it seems people had it working back in Feb with some 2.65 software package. I have also read that they have it working with 1.0.2.9. Maybe I don't have a processor driver installed or something else amd related. I'm going to look into all that maybe tomorrow or this weekend when I have more time. Thanks for the replies.

I have installed these drivers every way known to man. They always install with no fuss but I'm not seeing any signal strength when I'm scanning for channels. I read it could even be the power supply. I have tried two different pci slots with the same results. I will put the card back in my other system this weekend and see what happens. I'm thinking about hunting down the new twinhan usb product which would eliminate the power supply being an issue. AD-SB200 DVB-S USB TV Box - Anyone know if this should or should not work as long as the drivers are good. It specifically says it will work with vista.

My 1025 was a pain to install - I never could get it to work in my main PC - IIRC, It kept griping about having Bt 787 drivers installed. I finally put it in my GB-PVR server and it installed and worked fine.

If you had ANY sort of a software tuner card previously installed on the computer, you may want to try a format/re-install of windows (I know it sucks, but it's the only way to guarantee that you're starting "fresh" and not picking up some sort of conflict).

Its a new install on a new hard drive of vista. Did the same thing with xp sp2 when I had it installed on this system. Its not calling the card something its not in device manager and everything shows up. Just does not show signal strength in mytheatre or gpbvr when scanning. I'm going to try someones 102g card in this system this weekend.
