sub Wrote:ubu, were you actually running fullscreen when you took that screenshot? e.g. started GB-PVR fullscreen, with entire monitor covered, then clicked live tv? Or was there something more to it?
Basically, yes. Started GB-PVR in fullscreen (set in config). The main menu screen looked much the same as the screenshot. Then selected Live TV which produced the screen in my screenshot. (After that, I did try toggling to Window mode and back again using Alt-Enter but that did not cure the problem). That was all using standard VMR9.

Then I switched to VMR9 Custom and went through the same steps. This time the main menu screen was too small (90% ?), as before, but when I selected Live TV the display went to 99.9% fullscreen with just a little light shining through at the edges to show it wasn't "true" fullscreen. When I switched back to the main menu, it too now displayed as 99.9% fullscreen. It stayed at 99.9% until I exited. On restarting GB-PVR this cycle was repeated.

I must admit - I've got no idea why you'd be seeing that.

Can anyone else confirm they have the same problem with the patch?

Sub, I am not seeing the fullscreen problem that ubu is reporting, sorry I can't confirm it. However I can confirm that after about 5-6 hours of MVP use that both the F1 guide and Tv guide are working amazingly well, you seem to have fixed those problems. I will leave the MVP on overnight and test it out some more in the morning but it is 100% better. If I run into anything I will post here. Thank you!

aprox 7 hours after MVP turn on I did notice a guide load, must have caught the tail end of it as I finished watching a show then went to tv guide it did take maybe 20 seconds to load. I don't know the exact time it occured after MVP turn on. Still much much better performance overall than before.

I've switched back and forth between the original version of gbpvr.exe and the patched version a couple of times just to make sure I hadn't accidentally screwed something else up to cause this problem. The original version continues to work as advertised. The patched version continues to display this bizarre but easily reproduced behaviour.

I believe you - just cant think of exactly why you'd be seeing this.

Can you tell me the values of following settings from your config.xml are?

<OverScanBorderX1>0</OverScanBorderX1>
<OverScanBorderY1>0</OverScanBorderY1>
<OverScanBorderX2>0</OverScanBorderX2>
<OverScanBorderY2>0</OverScanBorderY2>
<OverScanVideoAlso>true</OverScanVideoAlso>

Here's the relevant section:

Code:
<HorizontalZoom>1.05</HorizontalZoom>
  <HorizontalOffset>0</HorizontalOffset>
  <VerticalZoom>1.00</VerticalZoom>
  <VerticalOffset>0</VerticalOffset>
  <OverScanBorderX1>35</OverScanBorderX1>
  <OverScanBorderY1>35</OverScanBorderY1>
  <OverScanBorderX2>35</OverScanBorderX2>
  <OverScanBorderY2>35</OverScanBorderY2>
  <OverScanVideoAlso>true</OverScanVideoAlso>
I have the borders set to 35 since, with my current component cable hook up I was experiencing overscan of the text portions of the display such that the top and bottom of the main menu screen were disappearing off the display and the left and right ends of the OSD program description were truncating. After playing around a bit, I found that a setting of 35 was the sweet spot.

To try to cure this current problem I have tried backing them off a bit. Setting them to zero just puts me back where I started - with severe truncation of the screen. Setting them to, say, 25 gives me the worst of both worlds. Not really fullscreen but truncating within the visible "window".

Well, it's a whole lot better but no actual cigar yet Smile. The "fullscreen" display area now almost completely fills the screen but a very small gap is still visible along the top border. The text overscan does not seem to be showing any truncation. (I'm still running with the borders set to 35 and the OSD program description looks fine).

Sub.. I tried the first patch after you asked which guide.. All seems perfectly normal so far.. I am assuming this will not fix the live tv record issue.. but the guide is working perfectly so far... I too will check back after some more rigourous testing... I am not experiencing the issue ubu is.... perhaps its related to the software recording plugin??

Thanks Much!
