Ricklous - This worked a treat. much more usable than UltraVNC (still great bit of software though)
One question - how did you get a custom task to kill GBPVR.exe and restart. I tried setting executable as %windir%\System32\cmd.exe and the argument as Restart.cmd (containing taskkill and GBPVR executable which works fine) in the GBPVR root directory but cmd.exe just sits there doing nothing??

Soz f'delay,
i used same method that bluesman details. Works for me. Something else that works well for me, get the appearance manager plugin and extract the 'startGBPVR.exe' contained in it, save it in the GBPVR folder and fire this off from the batch file instead of GBPVR.exe. It gives you a little splashscreen saying 'restarting GBPVR....' while the menu is reloading (which can take a while if youve a rake of plugins loading). In my case, it just gives the users a bit of reassurance that something is happening rather than a rather ominous empty desktop while you're waiting for the menu to return.

yeah, ive been trimming out unused plugins for that reason, still seems to take a while though, so that would be handy.
I still use UltraVNC to control GBPVR itself as using remote desktop on the GBPVR user profile it sends me back to the welcome screen on the TV and without a keyboard i cant access it again! This has been very handy though, thanks.

Just tried UltraVNC on my new build. Easily the best VNC for cross-LAN connections. It's so quick

You possibly all know this, but I"ll mention it any way:
You can edit your fast-link for Ultravnc like this: "C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -connect 192.168.xxx.xxx -autoscaling -password xxxx. You don't have to enter your password anymore and it scales automatic so that you don't have the sidebars in your window.

Been using ultravnc for a long time now -- flawless. autoscale looks pap on my high res laptop tho.
gotta try this multi-session hack on my non-pvr pc. Wife is always playing solitaire on it... - cheers ricklous!
