I've been very interested in building my own PVR and now that i have.. i cant get it to work =( My capture card is a hauppauge pvr-150, video card is an readeon 9800, 120gb HD, 1gb of DDR400 ram. athlon 64 for my cpu. everytime i try to watch live TV, or record or do anything.. i get an error: failure playing back file. hope someone out there can help me out wiht this.. if i cant get this to work.. i'm jsut going to return the pvr-150 to compusa and raise my white flag...I am attaching my log file.. hope this clears things up.

First off - did you get it to work in wintv2000? If you get it to work there, you at least know the card is not malfunctioning. Second, we're going to need all your logfiles (there are several in your gbpvr folder that ends with .log) in order to help you. Unless the card itself is broken, I'm convinced we'll be able to get you going =)

funny that you mention trying WinTV2000 i tried to run the program and for some reason.. WinTV2000 would just freeze. then i'd have to restart the whole machine for the program to leave my desktop. I just rebuilt my machine to try gb-pvr out so there are no other programs on my computer other than gb-pvr and all the windows updated stuff and .net is installed.

Just to rule out the obvious - did you install it properly with drivers and mpeg decoder?
If you go to device manager (in the control panel->system->hardware), is your card listed there without a yellow warning sign?

The GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.exe.log seems to indicate everything is recording correctly, but it just look like the card isnt producing any data.

If its not working with WinTV2000, thats a pretty good sign that the device is not in a functioning state.
