OK, thanks. I've sent off a detailed email explaining the situation, and providing screenshots etc. Hopefully we'll hear something back from them.

I dont usually use this decoder. I just installed it this morning after putting the nvidia card in my machine. I tried pretty much all the possible combinations of settings.

Just a heads up - New drivers from Nvidia(91.28) do not seem to help the situation.

With these drivers it seems that using zoom in GBPVR gives another problem - I use the zoom feature in the config.xml to cut the black bars off from the top and bottom of my screen as I use a 16:10 format. With the new drivers instead of zooming on the center of the image it zooms from the the top right hand corner. This only happens in full screen mode though; in windowed mode zoom behaves as it should.

I know these aren't official drivers but whilst Sub is mucking about with an Nvidia card I hope he can look into this too.

Cheers,
Ambro

sub Wrote:I see that fiddling with the nvideo decoder settings, you can get the aspect ratio to work correctly by setting the 'Deinterlace Control' to 'Film', but by the look of it this is not deinterlacing.

Extracting from the Purevideo users guide:
'Film' forces deinterlacing off
'Video' forces deinterlacing on
'Automatic' reads the source information fields to determine if deinterlacing is required
'Smart' analyses the video content to determine if detinterlacing is required

Smart mode is known to get confused and randomly switch deinterlacing on and off during video playback.

Edit:
You probably already know this but just confirming, 'Anamorphic/Raw Aspect' display type, applies no aspect ratio correction at the video decoder. The other display types do apply decoder aspect ratio correction.

Also corrected the film/video settings (I previously had them the wrong way round)

Did anything come of this any reply from nvidia. I have a nvidia asus 5600 agp card and get the graphics problems similar to other users, i get a red band in the black boarders when watching live tv. If i change the aspect ratio by pressing F7 it disappears. Also since upgrading to version 97 i get jerky playback on live tv, using different decoders makes no difference.

When i first start live tv using my compro card dvb i get a very narrow band of video as if i am veiwing a 2.35:1 movie on a 4:3 display, but after going through the various aspect ratio's it never returns to this until i close live tv and then start again.

Am i correct in saying that the dvb broadcasts are in 16/9 in the uk so on my 4:3 monitor should display letter boxed to keep the correct aspect ratio.

When i use my pvr 150 for analog it displays in the correct aspect ratio full screen but seems as if it is pushing the osd channel info of screen at the bottom.

No, unfortunately nvidia did not respond to my email.

You only option (for now) in relation to this aspect ratio is to disable hardware accelleration if you're using an nvidia card, or disable deinterlacing in the video decoder settings.
