ive had a strange problem with the aspect ratio settings too - i tried using the F7 aspect ratio change under VMR7 (150 non-mce on an older shuttle case with onboard S3 graphics) and it seems to have affected my drivers - the display changes proportion correctly, but the display is choppy and slow. I've tried changing back to the original format, but i can't seem to get it right by simply pressing F7; a couple of the proportion options come up as green-screens, whilst the rest are also choppy and slow.
whats worse is that now the recording service seems to fail every time - i don't get any kind of message or whatever, the recordings themselves just fail to start. i've tried switching back to overlay mode which looks fine, but my recordings still fail.
this all came about after changing from 97.7 to 97.9 - i've tried reinstalling my hauppauge drivers, completely removing gbpvr and starting afresh, removing and reinstalling windvd (version 6 btw), trying the cyberlink decoder (which looks terrible)... nothing seems to get the recording service back or allow VMR7 correctly.
would reinstalling .net be an option? (im currently using both 1.1 and 2.0, also, is there any way of resetting your DirectX settings?
