I dont know what live tv record issue you're talking about.

ubu is seeing his problem because of his overscan settings.

This is what I get doing a screen print using Alt-PrntScrn. What I actually see is the GB-PVR "window" filling the screen all the way except at the top where I can still see a sliver of the Windows desktop. Presumably this discrepency is due to the overscan I get from my graphics card at 720X480.

This shot might be more helpful since the text fields give you a sense of how the over/underscan is affecting the actual displayable area (proximity to the top, etc.)[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

I was able to reproduce this look with your overscan settings, but with the last attachment I supplied it fixed it on my machine, filling black around the outside. I'm not really sure why this isnt happening for you.

Well, whatever you did in the last patch certainly improved matters a lot. On my TV I now have just a sliver at the top (and, if I look really hard, a slight sliver at the bottom) where the desktop is visible. So it seems like you are on the right track. I wish someone else would report the same error so there'd be more of a triangulation on the problem.

Two things I notice in the two screen shots: 1) the live TV "window" has more of a gap (where the desktop is showing) at the top and bottom than at the sides (ie. it's not proportional to the display area); 2) the main menu "window" is smaller than the live TV window so, in that shot, you can see slivers of the live TV window at each side of the main menu display (but not at the top and bottom). Does that make sense?

I just downloaded the patch (the latest one). It does seem to have solved the problem with the TV Guide and mini Guide. They both popup almost instantly. I haven't seen the problem ubu is reporting but I will look closer at it tonight and see if there is a problem.

After fiddling extensively with the aspect ratio settings I have finally found the following produces an "acceptable" viewing experience with the newest patch:
Code:
<OverScanBorderX1>30</OverScanBorderX1>
  <OverScanBorderY1>21</OverScanBorderY1>
  <OverScanBorderX2>30</OverScanBorderX2>
  <OverScanBorderY2>26</OverScanBorderY2>
The resulting picture is close, but not identical, to what I was seeing with the pre-patched version of gbpvr.exe. (I've lost a small amount of real estate at the top and bottom of the screen such that, for instance, the date text line on the main menu screen is closer to the top of the TV display than it used to be and the last line of a long OSD program description is very slightly truncated at the bottom of the letters).

Generally, it seems as if the "shape" or aspect ratio of the GP-PVR output (text, menus, etc.) has changed relative to the aspect ratio of the video output area as a whole. Also (maybe this is significant), if I use Alt-Enter to switch to windowed mode and then back to fullscreen mode, the aspect ratio changes slightly and the "slivers" of desktop are visible again. If I then close and restart GB-PVR, the slivers disappear again.

Since nobody reporting success with this patch has also provided any details of their particular set up, it's hard to know what's specific to mine that might be causing this problem

Ubu, what specific details do you want?? I watch my system over a SVideo connection to a 4:3 television... thru an ATI 9600 Radeon (128Mb) ... I am running XPSP2, ATI Cat 6.0 drivers... AMD64 3200+, MSI Neo Platium ...

I tried pressing F7 (Change Aspect) many times, but everything looks normal... as for overscan I dont think I have any setting.. I have a MVP here but its problematic at best so I dont use it much ...

I didnt further respond as I wasnt even aware there was a question...

Hey Tim, thanks for your response. I guess I'm just trying to find out what might stand out as being different in my set up since I'm the only one experiencing this problem. Sub has done everything he can to try to isolate it and identify the cause, but he clearly needs more "clues". I'm hoping to find a "smoking gun" such as my using component video output, a driver version, etc. I'll probably have to wait until this patch makes it into an official release and more users are exposed to it.

Indexes.zip is corrupt I think, I get error when trying to open it;
"Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive.
