Decoder is Intervideo noncss video decoder gives me the error message. I will try all of the above suggestions and let you know.

Another curious thing I noticed is that are a handful of channels that are always tuned perfectly andupon inspections of the lineups on all 4 tuners, these channels are not present on any lineup. Ie cannel 9 and 98 tune perfectly and are not subject to sporatic tuning but, they are not on the channle list for any of the four tuners. This is just getting weirder????????

That decoder doesnt actually expose any settings, so you're not missing out on anything.

Its pretty typical reception/tuner lock problems that some channels will be fine.

OK......I just did a test recording on all four tuner. 2 were perfect, and two were bad. From this I can only assume that it stems from the addition of the second card. Either something is wrong with the card or slot or, the configuration of that card that is off. The first card was tested befor the addition of the 2nd card and was fully functional. Any thoughts on this?

OK, OK I think I have it. The problem was that the 2nd card both tuners were configured using different lineups with conflicting channels. Once I had all tuners configured exactly the same it seems to be working perfectly. I will do another test recording to confirm. Someone just slap me...

Thanks I needed that. Now after doing another test recording. I can schedule 4 simultaneous recordings but two are great and 2 are bad, not as bad as before but bad. Now I dont know what the hell to think. I'm still playing around hopefully I'll figure it out. Thanks again for your help.

Mhm, i don't know much about the channel-tuning within your country; myself i couldn't use the Frequencies 1:1 from different Tools. I used the Tuning-Assistant and entered the Frequencies directly to the DirectX Path in the Registry; that worked for me.

That you now have two bad recordings could be different things:
Wrong (because different) setup within GB-PVR, damaged cables to the 2nd Tunercard, a wrong PCI-Slot.
I would recommed to place the TV-Cards FAR away from the graphicscard and put them into a Slot which isn't sharing anything. nForce 2 and some VIA MoBos are well known to have a bad PCI Performance too; if you're using S-ATA, which is often connected to the PCI-BUS, then the Problem is more dramatically.

Give your time. Go through all steps step-by-step. Look here and test there. Perhaps you should use for testing purposes only 1 card?

First the 1st card, and then exchange with the other one, to disclosure any hardwaredefects.

Btw... you're welcome... *slap* Big Grin

I added an amp to that card and though it added a bit of grain seems to be acceptable. All went well with a test recording (4 simultaneous) however now when I playback live or recorded tv the audio level is extremely low. If I open the files in another program, the level is normal. Boy if its not one thing its another. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I think that this may be due to a registry key that is storing the last volume level for gbpvr

search for volume registry key

Quote
delete the registry value "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\devnz\LastVolume"

@gEd

Yepp, that's right. Another point to look in were the Windows Soundmixer. If you lower the Volume with a remote within GB-PVR then the WAVE Channel will be lowered too; just because of these annoying things i stopped the Volumecontrol within GB-PVR and choose to control my subwoofer instead with my MCE Remote. Much more better solution and i don't have to recalibrate sound every restart of GB-PVR.
