stormarmy55 Wrote:I just started receiving this same error message. I have been having a really hard time setting up my second PVR150 card to work with my Digital STB. I finally decided that it is likely due to the fact that I had it linked through coax cable, not s-video. So i went out and purchased an s-video cable, and hooked up the STB to the pvr-150. Now everytime I try to record or watch TV I get the "active refusal" message discussed aboce. Is it possible that my STB itself has the outputs disabled? Or is this likely due to my antivirus? I have uninstalled my other PVR-150 analog card (just connected to cable) in hopes of simplifying this setup.

When you get the error, check if GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log is running. If it is running, then its probably your firewall software getting in the way. If it isnt running, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look. I'd be looking to see if there was an error like the one I quoted in post #2. This would tell me if it was an error like the one being discussed in this thread.

GBPVRrecordingservice is definitely running when I get the error. I'm a newb, thus I don't know where to find the logs you are talking about...

Its probably caused by your firewall software stopping communication between GB-PVR and Recording Service then.

Ok, I have attached the log files. THanks for looking into this for me Sub. I checked my firewall, and all GBPVR processes are allowed...

I believe I may have missed some files in the attachment above. I have tried to attach a new zip but there is an error with the forum.

First thing I'd check is the card type you've selected for you capture source. It looks like you've got a PVR150 but have selected a PVR250 in the capture source settings.

I switched the capture card back to a 150, which is the correct setting. Oddly, the 150 doesn't show up as present when you check the 'show cards detected' box under capture sources. Unfortunately, I still seem to be having the problem. I can't see how my firewall is blocking GBPVR, I checked and my firewall "permits all" GBPVR activity.

Now you've set the card type correctly, reproduce the problem and zip and attach the logs again and I'll take another look.
