I've got GB-PVR automagically transcoding my recordings to MP4 (Video iPod) which I have manually altered in the confix.xml file to be 640x480. This has worked fine until the most recent update (I went from 98.08 to 98.13b). Now, when I try to playback an MP4 file, I hear audio, but the display hangs on the Play/Resume/etc. screen. The GBPVR.exe-native.log file appears to indicate that the system is improperly identifying the video resolution as:

video resolution is 1818322494 x 846807653

I can see where this might be problematic, but am unsure what might be causing it. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions? I'm attaching the GBPVR.exe-native.log file, in case there is additional information that might shed some more light on the problem.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I doubt its to do with the resolution thing you've identified. Its more likely to be related to the mainconcept MP4 spliter its trying to use.

Maybe try installing the Haali splitter? You'd also need to check the logs to make sure that its really being used in preference to the mainconcept one.

Do these files play in WindowsMedia Player?

WMP throws me a codec error, but the files play fine in Quicktime, and viewing the properties of the video files indicates that Quicktime sees them as 640x480.

GB-PVR and Windows Media Player both use Directshow, so thats probably not a good sign if WMP cant play it.

Did you try the Haali splitter?

Magic! The Haali Splitter did the trick. Still looks like I need to further tweak the MP4 settings to get a better end result from the transcode, but at least I've got video playing again. Thanks for the speedy help!
