Hi, I'm new to this but I've been trying to get GBPVR working for some time, I'm nearly there except I can't get the subtitles to turn off. I'm using the Hauppagge Nova-T DVB card, and I've tried turning them off in the config menu but they still always come on, and the 'sub/cc' button on the remote does nothing.

I've looked around in the wiki and the forum but havn't found anything about this, I'm sorry if I missed it but this is really doing my head in.

please help.

Are you running the new v0.99.5 release?

Try pressing the yellow key (Ctrl-Y) to turn of subtitles.

Thanks for the quick reply, CTRL-Y doesn't seem to do anything, neither does any button on the remote. But I'm not running the latest version (really should have checked that) so I'll try updating this evening and hopefully that will sort the problem.

cheers.

I've upgraded now and the problem is solved, everything seems to be working great.

the only other question I have is when recording from a DVB source does the recording quality option actually make a difference? and how can I be sure that I am recording the full quality of the origional broadcast?

at the moment I'm recording with the high quality option and it seems good, I just want to be sure I'm not losing any quality.

Cheers.

The quality setting is ignored when you record with a digital device. You effectively endup with the original stream being recorded to disk, with no loss of quality etc.
