playback - fast forward?

I have a two hour show that I recorded, and then viewed half.
I now want to jump ahead 1 hour and finish viewing. I was hitting the forward button which hops 1 minute with every push, but this eventually crashes and the mvp player reboots.

Is there a better way to fast forward quickly? Why does the mvp crash?

type in 60 on the number pad then press skip to skip 60 mins, you can define how many mins you can skip.

I read everything, but I only respond if I have something I feel will help, or is worth saying. I'm only human, and quite often I just dont know the answer.

i tried this and it still skipped 1 minute??

try it again, it should work, well does with hauppauge remotes. i cant remember if the number show up when watching a recorded program, where as in live tv numbers will appear in the bottom right corner, go to live tv and test if they appear, and try watching a program then skipping backwards say 5mins. see if that works.

I'll try that when I get home tonight. I only tried this with the pre-recorded tv show. I will try with live tv and post what happens.

Using the hauppauge remote and trying to jump forward 60 minutes, I got no visable feedback when I punched the "60" and then hit the skip button. I seemed to ignore the numeric entry. we'll see...

Do you not have to change in the config.exe as to whether the skip ahead is based in seconds or minutes? I thought the default was seconds so typing in 60 would result in one minute,

Either try typing in 3600 or change the config to minutes. Ignore if i am talking out of my arse
