All three are XP. Server 1 is XP Pro, server 2 is X? home and the client is XP home. I have two servers that are on different floors (the one I can't get to work is in the basement so I really want my laptop to be able to schedule recordings, otherwise I have to go downstairs). I do have an MVP on the upper floor so I can schedule on that. I am logged in on all three as admin with the same user name and password on each.

I actually have 3 clients and they all act the same way (the other two clients are XP home and Pro also).

When I was running 99.12, this server worked great but I did a complete reinstall for 1.0.16.

I also tried turning off everything GBPVR on server 2 thinking it was using the file, that wasn't it. I also made sure I had the same firewall settings on each of the servers (and also tried turning it off on server 2).

Do you think I need to reinstall on server 2? Do you think I-Xmltv is not letting the file go? If I am on the server, I can rename the file or move it with no problem.

Sorry, but I'm still not sure which server don't work... is it server1 (XP Pro) or server 2 (XP Home)?

Yes, all are using 10016.

I got it to work. I didn't try this before but I copied gbpvr.db3 to my shared documents folder on server 2. I could then open it on my laptop through my network. I then renamed the copy that was in gbpvr and then moved the one I could open back in. It now works.

Thanks all for the help.

After you moved the gbpvr.db3 back into the gbpvr folder, did you run the config program on the laptop and, in the 'Capture Sources' tab, change 'Database Share:' back to the gbpvr folder \\server2\gbpvr ?

No, I did not run config againt. I kept my shared folder at: \\scanner\devnz\gbpvr (I was sharing the devnz accept for once when you guys asked me to change it to just \\scanner\gbpvr)

Something must have grabbed the gbpvr.db3 and not let it go. I could move, copy, and rename it with no errors on server2 (which I call scanner).

Now my batch files work again that change from one server to the other. These batch files just delete the active config.xml and then move another one in for the other server. It works great to be able to change servers without going into the config.exe.
