sub (or anyone who knows about codecs and DirectShow), do you have any thoughts on this:

Quote:Looks like I can't view them through the Video Library either, as the same thing happens (black screen, then back to the Video Library list. I'm suspecting something in the Quicktime Alternative setup isn't playing nice with GB-PVR and my limited video card. Strange that the .mov files play fine outside GBPVR though...

On one of my machines it works and others it doesn't

I've never tried any .mov files myself, but it should be exactly the same as any other file type - if you have the directshow filters installed, then it should be able to play the files in GB-PVR.

I cant think of any reason it wouldnt work on one of your machines. If you reproduce the problem and post the logs, I'll see if anything stands out.

Can you also post the PVRX2.exe-native.log?

It looks like directshow is unable to find a set of directshow filters to play the file.

Can you play the file in WMP on that machine?

No I can't. It must be something to do with the QuickTime Alternative install but I can't see anything obvious and I'm sure I didn't do anything different compared to the other machine which can play them.

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Quic...native.htm
Quote:Changes in QuickTime Alternative 1.90 :
- Updated QuickTime components to version 7.2.0.240
- Removed DirectShow filters
- Minor changes

and from the Info page on the installer:
Quote:This pack does NOT install any components for playing QuickTime files with Windows Media Player or other DirectShow players. To get the required DirectShow filters for playing QuickTime files in such players, it is recommended to use the K-Lite Codec Pack.

Will have to find an alternative source of DirectShow filters or hunt around for an old version
