mc remote and pvrx2

Greetings

I have installed pvrx2 and have the mc remote along with bean bag installed.
Went into config and set remote to MCE. The little red light blinks but there is no reaction by pvrx2. I was hoping this part would of been straight forward

it should work
i have hip installed but i only use that to make the start button work
just check that the focus is on gbpvr by click on the screen with the mouse
other than that i dont know

This is all I had to do on a clean install of XP yesterday.

Have you seen the remote work in any other software on your machine? for example, in Internet Explorer will it scroll up/down a long page when you press the up/down buttons on the remote?

hmmmmm didn't think of trying it with IE... at work now but will try that when I get home.
