Is there a utility that will allow me to edit the database and put the name I want the program recorded as? I record a lot of international programming and there is never any additional information other than title in the programming guides. I would like to edit the scheduled recordings say once a week or so to put the additional information like episode and such or the entire new name.

You might want to try the EpisodeTweaker utility that is mentioned here. I didn't try it, but it sounds like what you want.

Nevermind, you want to edit the information before it gets recorded, EpisodeTweaker is used to edit the description after the recording. Sorry for the noise

EpisodeTweaker is close. When I get a few hours, I'll see about enhancing to allow you to update entries in the EPG.

Are there other specific fields you need access to other than the episode name?

Thanks so much. I would like to strip out the spaces in the show name. Then I wish to add "_ep" and then the date so it would be something like UglyBetty_ep24_20070912.
If it can be automated to, if possible, give the sytem the ability to increment the episode number of each recording of that show would be great if it is doable without too much hassle. So say on the January 2 you set it to record Who Shot John. You can edit the recording so it knows that january 2 is WhoShotJohn_ep1_20080102. Then you select a "Yes" button that says something like "Sequence" and the system would know that on january 9 Who shot john should be titled WhoShotJohn_ep2_20080109 and so on.
Would need the ability to manually reset the number so that if the guide shows that Who Shot John is on but something else was televised, you can go and reset so it does not skip a number because the guide and actual programming differed.

I would still like the option to add the episode subtitle as well for shows that are not sequentially episodic so WHoShotJohn_WithABullet_20080102

The program simply edits the table in the db. I was not planning on automating much of anything, simply providing a user interface to allow you to make your changes.
