Creatix CTX917 supported?

Hi,

I've been looking at this software today and am completely new at this so I was wondeirng if I could get some help.

I have a Creatix CTX917 V.1 card, which according to their website is a DVB-T/TV-Tuner Card. It came with the computer I bought from Lidl in Norway. I know that's the card because that's what it says on the actual card.

I downloaded and installed the latest one as of today, v.1.1.5.

Under Capture Source, which one am I suppose to pick? Direct Recording Plugin, GO7007SB Recording Plugin or the BDA one? I wasn't sure so I selected all three each and tried to see what I get in settings, and tried to follow the guides, but it doesn't work. And when I click on "show only installed" I don't see Creatix CTX917, but some other cards come up.

I know that Creatix CTX917 is not listed under the detalied card list, so I was wondering if I have to add it like it is explained on the wiki? I just get a little confused because my card name is not listed in the detailed list, so I think, ok, I have to add my card. But then when I click on "show only installed", some cards come up, so then I think, well maybe it is installed, and I don't need to add it?

If it has BDA drivers you should be able to get the DVB-T side of this device working. The analog side will not work.

If it matches some when you tick the 'only show devices detected in this machine' tickbox, then try one of those options.

Ok, I will try, but can I ask again or maybe you can redirect me somewhere? I am a COMPLETE noob with these tv tuners and cables and set top boxes, so I'm wondering if everything is physically connected right? I tried to search the internet, but haven't found a really good site that would help me.

I have a Strong SRT 6750 satellite set top box. From the STB I use a coax cable connected to the plug that says "To TV" to my pc card, which is Creatix CTX917.

Is everything so far so good? I wasn't quite sure how to figure out whether I had BDA drivers, so I looked at the driver info in device mananger and some of them said bda, so I figured that maybe it had bda drivers. I've added a capture source with BDA Recording plugin. Now I should play around with the settings and the few cards that config detects on my pc, and hopefully one of them will work?

I have a Strong SRT 6750 satellite set top box. From the STB I use a coax cable connected to the plug that says "To TV" to my pc card, which is Creatix CTX917.

That is not going to work. Your satellite set top box is going to receiving a DVB-S signal via the incoming signal from the satellite dish, and be outputting an analog signal on the coax to your pc card. Your DVB-T tuner can can only be used for DVB-T, which is not on this cable.

To get DVB-T, you need to have you DVB-T card plugged into an antenna, and be in an area that receives DVB-T transmissions.

If something shows up when you've ticked 'only show devices detected in this machine' then I'm sure you have BDA drivers.

I understand, thank you very much for your help. I am going to try and see if I can find any channels through an antenna with the DVB-t, if not, I still like that I can now just use the remote to play videos on my TV through the PC.
