DivX playback in PVRX2 - how?

Hi there,

has anyone managed to playback transcoded DivX files via gbpvr, yet? I'm anxious to learn how I would go about that.

GBpvr will play anything that windows will play assuming you have the proper codecs. Just make sure that the folder containing your Divx files is set up to be accessible from the video library.

if you have the divx or xvid decoder already installed, you can play them back via the video library menu (you need to define the location of your file in the config).

Or have I misunderstood the question?

Aha, obviously it's working - at least for you all.

However, if I go to the video menu in pvrx2, and select a divx transcoded recording ("film_name.avi") frormo teh list, the screen turns black and pvrx2 freezes.

I can playback divx via the divx player or vlc, but not via pvrx2. So I'm wondering if I first have to configure pvrx2 to be ablke to use the divx decoder codec that is installed and working on my machine. Any hints?

Can you play the divx file with windows media player? this relies on the same codecs as gbpvr whereas vlc has them all built in.

There is no configuration needed. GBPVR uses directshow which is the same as windows mediaplayer (i am not sure but think VLC and divx player do it differently). So if mediaplayer plays the AVI's GBPVR should also. Most probably there is something broke with the installation of the codecs. Did you install one of those codec packs? these are known to break things.

Try to install Xvid and at the end of the installation tick all three boxes such that Xvid becomes the default mpeg4 codec. I guess this will solve the issue.
