Hi All
after months of glitch free gbPVR I ran into a big problem tonight. Briefly, many months ago I installed the XRecord plugin and added an auto search for shows with "Lost" in the title. Later, I added the EWA plugin, and my wife added an auto search and record for "Lost". A week ago, "Lost" showed up in the EPG, and I noticed that there were 2 recordings scheduled for each show. So I deleted the XRecord auto search and one of each recording, and everything looked fine. Tonight however, the show didn't record - when I looked at itin the TV Guide it was red, and I couldn't delete it. I tried to add a manual recording and that also failed, and I can't delete it. I've attached my logs, but I see many (100s) repeats of

2008-01-31 20:33:16.505 ERROR [5] Caught unexpected exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at GBPVR.RecordingService.x93f60a55016d55c4.xcba1f05fb5a46d5f()

Any ideas how to trouble shoot/ fix this? It's bad enough that I've missed the two "Lost" shows that were supposed to run tonight, but now I'm wondering if all my pending recordings will fail.

Unfortunately this is probably the sort of thing I'd need to be at home to look at (so I can review the code), but unfortunately I'm out of the country for another week and a half.

I use SQLite Database Browser to open the gbpvr.db3. In the Recording_Schedule table, you can get rid of anything other than status 4 ,0, or 2

6 means the recording is deleted, pending removal from the database on nect EPG update...

1 means 'is recording' sometimes, there's nothing recording but still a 1
2 means finished succesful recording. 2 Must have a valid filename in place of the show title. If the filename is not valid, GB-PVR will just say, 'not there, I'll remove the record...'

It's possible that you have a blank record in there, where there are some null fields, or blanks where data must be...

(I've been doing a lot of db repair lately as I'm developing stuff that doesn't always work...)

Thanks for the replies, guys. It looks like at least the recordings subsequent to this snafu are working, but I would appreciate your looking over my database, in case I have another problem. I have SQLite spy, and I can see that in the Recording Schedule table there's an entry w/ a program_oid of 0 scheduled for the time when Lost should have been recorded, could that be the problem?

Thanks again,

D

This is what you'd get with a manual recording.
