Chobby playback

After forced reconfiguration (warn out system drive) playback via both my mvp's is choppy. Before the reconfiguration it was working fine. Playback directly from the the box via GBPVR is also chobby, PVRX2 not working (no Wrm9 support), WMP only plays sound.
Have installed nvidia decoder (trial version). Using overlay manager, under misc settings: cyberlink muxMy "active system process" constantly is about 95-99% in "idle" condition, cpu use varies between 0-6%, Allocated memory of 395M. When activating playback via mvp i can hardly see any change in cpu use, but still chobby playback.

Have tried going through hole thread "disappointing MPEG2 decoding" following the vaious suggestions (9.0b quartz.dll ao.) however no positive result. Im close to giving up, and starting all over again - as someone suggested without going through the various windows updates, however would like to hear if anybody has any suggestionsHavent before i start all over again?

If you reproduce the problem with PVRX2.exe, then zip and attach the logs, then I'll take a look.

Thks, but dont know how to reproduce it with PVRX2 ... when I start it, it says "sorry, the system does not support the required VMR9 video render" - and closes down!

Ah, right. Have you downloaded updated drivers from the nvidia site?

Sorry, I dont know then. Asus Gforce 7300 LE should certainly be capable of doing VMR9.

When you say "reconfiguration", do you mean re-installation of Windows or something else? Are you sure you have the right chipset drivers? You system sounds seriously hobbled and that's about the only thing I can think of that could screw up everything that badly.

Also, do you have DMA access enabled on your hard drive? Perhaps that could explain the choppy playback on the MVPs. Make sure DMA isn't completely disabled on the system too - I think some BIOS' have an option to disable it completely and perhaps that's the trouble.

By reconfiguration i mean a complete new install of windows, drivers, the works. Usually, when I have no "complaints" in "device drivers" under computer administration Im happy about the driver configuration however something is apparently wrong. The thing is that things worked before I had to reinstall windows so i would rule out hardware problems. DMA is enabled on the system (properties of IDE channel). As this wasnt a problem before, and I havent changed the Bios setup i dont think this is an issue!
However it bothers mee that i cant select avanced properties of the display adapter(right click on the desk top), and I cant change settings ... this suggest to me that something is wrong, however in the device driver setup the driver has no exclamation mark. The driver is stated to be "Nvidia Gforce 7300 LE" ... the receipt from the retailer says: "Asus Gforce 7300 LE PCI-E 128MB (EN7300LE/TD/128M)".
I have downloaded the latest 64 bit driver from the asus site, and also tried 32bit ... it seem not to make any difference!
And according to previous message from "sub" there should be no issue with the card and the present gbpvr version.
Im kind of lost here ...

I don't know if the last post means you fixed it or not, but this tells me there's most likely something wrong with the video card driver installation. If it's not a 32bit/64bit problem like you mentioned, the driver could have only installed partway. A video card full uninstall then reinstall would likely fix it.
