Strange. If you click the link, it doesn't work but if you then highlight the address in the address bar and hit <enter> it will download the file. Must be a referer thing.

Looks like I caused his download limit to be exceeded. So I uploaded his file at http://www.epgtools.com/gb_devs/obfuscate_j.gbpvr.zip

Quote:ok so here are the logs. it's still doing the same thing as i've described previously. when i select something from the tv guide, it will type out a number at the top center of the screen, then it will go to another channel all together. for example, i selected something on Discovery which is channel 45, then it typed out 10 at the top of the screen, then it changed the channel to 105.
i have checked in the config and all the channel numbers are listed correctly (it says 'DSC' is 45, etc)
I checked out the configuration of this one channel in your database and everything seems correct from the GB-PVR side of things, so must be your IR Blaster failing to reliably send channel numbers for whatever reason. You may find the timing of the signals are marginal, and when your system is under load may just be enough to break the IR timings, resulting in your IR Blaster sending signals that are incorrectly interpretted by your set top box.

so i assume that means you guys got the file then? if not its here http://jkenyon.servepics.com/other/gbpvr.zip

so about the IR suggestion, i suppose that makes sense... but then what should i do? again i'm using the hauppage remote from the HVR1600.

and i assume you mean the processor is doing a lot at once by 'under load'. there is something in the hauppage IR configuration tool to mess with the timings of the IR blaster. should i play with that some? thanks again everyone

I dont really have any other suggestions, so probably worth giving it a go. It might help.

ok well i think i got the CT tv EPG to work. i say i think because last time when i looked at the TV Guide in GBPVR it only had the next hour of listings, now it shows 4 days or so like it should.
but i have noticed something that i think may be the problem with my setup. when i was using YApi2XML, and even now that i have CT tv set as the EPG, the guide is messed up.

starting at the top of the guide when i click on it, it lists some of the 70 channels i have selected (it omits a few here and there like 4, 8, 22, 45 etc) and these all have just the name of the channel (WHYY or something like that), these are are in sequential order down the list
then directly under that it starts over again from 3 but this time it actually has the channel number before the name and no channels are omitted
then finally under that it lists all the channels again without the numbers but there are no shows listed for these.
then when i continue to scroll down it cycles back to the start again with the section that omits some of the channels.

what happens with each of these 3 sections is, for the first section that omits many of the channels, when i choose to watch something it will go to the channel like it should. but for the 2nd section which includes all of the channels it will go to a channel which is its position in the listing plus 70.
for example, i can go to channel 70 on the first section, then next it starts over again with 3 in the section section, but when i select that it tries to go to channel 71. if i select 4 it will go to 72. 5 to 73. etc...
the third section is the same.

this leads me to believe that it is in fact a problem with GB PVR and not the EPG since both are doing the same thing. if this makes any sense at all, does any one have any suggestions for a fix? could i just try to delete everything and do a fresh install? should i throw it out the window?

thanks for reading this long explanation. i just wish this would work...

Its not recommended you switch between EPG sources. Different EPG sources can have slight differences in the channel names etc which causes GB-PVR to think they're not the same channel, which causes them to be recreated with some seemly random channel number at the end of the list.

When you go to switch between YApi2XML and CT TV Listing, I'd recommend you delete your gbpvr.db3 database file, then start the config app and recreate your capture sources in the new blank database that is created. This should give you the listings in the order you expect.
