Not to hijack the thread but I have the exact same problem. It will run about 30 seconds to 1 minute fine then it will start hitching and slowing down making it very unwatchable in PVRX2. Now when I use GBPVR It runs fine. Have you tried running it in GBPVR and does it still happen?

My PRX2 Video Renderer is VMR9 Custom while my GBPVR is VMR9. Ive tried many many different video codecs to no avail. It seems to happen in all of them in PVRX2. That being said it used to run stellar before I formatted my system and reinstalled everything Now i cant get it to run right.

Also on another note my Schedule seems to be all out of wack. My time in windows and in my bios is correct but it doesnt match what is listed on my TV schedule. Its odd.

My specs.

Motherboard- EVGA N41 Something or other
Processor- Opteron 165 Overclocked to 2.5 Ghz
2 Gigs Corsair XMS Memory
Video card-Would like to use my ATI HD2600. Had been using Nvidia 7800GT and thats what currently is in it. I reformatted and reinstalled everything switching to the ATI HD2600. Its been problematic ever since the reformat. With both cards.

TV Tuner-Hauppauge 1600
19" Samsung Widescreen Monitor.

If you need anything else please let me know.

XP Codec Pack 2.3.6 includes :

- VSFilter (DirectVobSub) 2.38

Im sure there are others also but they are slipping my mind.

Since ive had multiple codecs on and off my system I have done another reformat to make sure it was a clean install and am back to just:

System Default
Intervideo NonCSS
HCW Mpeg-2 Video Decoder
MPEG Video Decoder

Its just so odd that it used to work beautifully until I decided to reformat to switch to the HD2600 and ever since then I havent been able to get it to work in PVR2X.

yeah i had tried a hd2400 and that screwed mine up a while back
but i use nvidia tried others and always come back to it
but a good one for testing that always works is the mpv (probably not the sharpest picture but a good all round decoder)
try it and see what its like
also turn off all the 3d settings shit on your card(you can turn them back on later one at a time)
also set wait for vertical sync either force always on or what ever it says

remove all other decoders you dont use having them installed just adds to the chance your system may decide it knows better
you could also try graph edit to see what decoders your system is actually using

Well I tried MPV and adjusted my card and its still doing it. Its so odd that it works in GBPVR but not PVRX2. Dont they use the same video decoders? Whats the difference between VMR9 and VMR9 Custom?

The former uses DirectDraw for drawing each frame on the screen. The latter uses Direct3D for drawing the frames. You can use VMR9 Custom in both PVRX2.exe and GBPVR.exe, set on the playback tab of the config app, if you want to confirm the behaviour is the same in both.
