I've been working on a kiosk setup that uses this script. I did some quick modifications for the GBPVR application. I'm not at home and cannot test this fully at the moment. This will restart the gbpvr application at any time it is closed. The only way to end this is to kill the wscript.exe task to abort the script.

Just replace the .txt extension with a .vbs extension and copy into your gbpvr directory and make a shortcut in your startup folder. You must launch gbpvr this way for the script to work. I'm also not sure what performance impact this script may have, I don't forsee any issues with it.

I would actully like command lines to close then open gbpvr.exe...I have a locking issue I can fix w/ a chron if I can stop/start the program the way you can the recording service.

You could download pskill from sysinternals. This can be used from the command line to kill a process by name..

PSKill is the only thing I can think of to do that as well. You could make a macro or something for your remote to execute that and with the script I posted it would automatically start back up.

That worked....I have some problem where gbpvr.exe is holding TV files so they don't delete. Only way to fix now is to restart it.

my problem is solved now...
wake.cmd will stop gbpvr using "taskkill" (yes, a tool that comes with XP...), then i restart it. and it works!

thanx for all the good hints!

Wow, nifty. I've never actually seen taskkill before. That's darn convienant. Thanks narkuma.
