I used the config.xml that you provided and it seems ok

Code:
2008-04-20 18:08:42.794    VERBOSE    [4]    getValue: /settings/WebServerPort : 7647
2008-04-20 18:08:42.794    VERBOSE    [4]    About to check web assemblies...
2008-04-20 18:08:42.800    VERBOSE    [4]    getValue() loading new key/value into cache: /settings/WebServerNMTStreamingEnabled
2008-04-20 18:08:42.801    VERBOSE    [4]    getValue: /settings/WebServerNMTStreamingEnabled : true
2008-04-20 18:08:42.801    INFO    [4]    Start GB-PVR web on: 7647

This is one for sub because it is still not loading your web service.

Sorry natty, I dont really have any suggestions for you. When the recording service is reading the config file, its seeing the setting as "false" so never enables the web server, I cant think of any reason for this.

Sub, one time you asked me to delete the web\bin folder contents or something like that. Is this something that natty could try and send his logs?

natty you can also try the follow manual method to see if it will load manually

hi

thanks again for your time on this one

sub, is it possible that by editing the config-master.dont-edit-me.xml, which has the web server set to false in it, to true, and then either leaving the config.xml as it is, or even removing the webserver bits from that might do the trick ?
maybe something in my config is a bit squiffy and its falling back to the master for the webserver bit?
i would do it now, but its way past tinkering time on this side of the planet Smile

not sure if that would just break everything?

thanks

on a side note..
i added the pch patches from post (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=34269) and the PVRX2 patch also.. then when i went to config, it popped up an instal progress bar type dialog, which then asked for the 1.2.9 msi.which i had deleted..
looked in event viewer and foiund that this was possibly to do with my dongle.bin files not being called dongle.bin, having renamed them so i knew which one was which..
grabbed it again, ran config, it found the msi that time, and ran fine, looked like it added the dongle.bin from the msi into the dongle dir.. anyhow wondered if this could have anything to do with anything, or it was just the checks that config does when its fired up..

nonetheless config is fine now, and have renamed the one i wanted to use as dongle.bin

If you bump the thread tomorrow, I'll take another look. I've been busy working through a problem for my day job at the moment, and it seems to be consuming every available braincell...

Hi sub

many thanks, sorry i again seem to be taking more than my fair share of your time
wasnt sure whether the dont edit me config was more of a master type thing, which was then overriden by the config.xml, or just used as a template config.xml on the first run of the config app

made another handful of beers donation to the cause

have a good one

Can you search you hard drive for any extra "config.xml" files that might be hanging around?
