GB-PVR doesnt attempt to set the deinterlacing used. This is decided automatically by the video decoder and video renderer. Some decoders have settings to allow you to specify your preference. Likewise, some video card drivers allow you to specify a preference.

Ok, so there's no way of telling the VMR9 renderer the deinterlacer to use within GBPVR, is that correct?

I am aware of those settings in Catalyst Control Center and have tried them all. However, they don't seem to do anything with regards to my problem. I get skipping every two seconds and weird artifacts and I don't get hardware acceleration UNLESS the VMR9 renderer is specified as BOB regardless of what the ATI decoder or CCC is set at. If I use EVR, I don't get HA because HA is not supported on XP for EVR, only on Vista.

Screen shots are coming tonight..

force wait for vertical sync may fix the 2 second glitch
and try turning off all other 3d extras antilaising and the like that may stop some of the mixed up picture

i use a nvidia card had bad experience with ati 2400 sounds similar to what you are getting
but even with the nvidia card the only way i have ever been able to get proper hardware acceleration is to use full screen exclusive

Gazoo, if I understand correctly you want to force GBPVR to use your favorite filter. I stumbled on this in http://babgvant.com/forums/p/371/1731.aspx:
"You can use the ffdshow action in the advanced actions download... construct graph in graphedit, then remove the file source and decrypt filters and save it as a .grf file, then configure the action to use that grf."

It maybe the solution. I haven't tried any of this myself. I don't even know if it makes sense!

I'm about to give up. I ran this again and now it works with whatever interlacer in graphedit. I have screen shots. I think I'm giving up. This just isn't going to happen. Here are the filters and options:

Is that correct? If so, I have bee wasting my time - I thought the only way to get H264 HA was to use EVR, but if I am using it on XP it may be a problem.

No, only for ATI decoder. Cyberlink does HA on evr. DXVA2 does not work in XP, only in Vista. ATI works with DXVA2 on EVR, which only works in Vista. VMR9 with ATI DXVA.

Sub, is the filter string pictured above the same thing that GBPVR runs when I pick ATI Decoder with AC3 audio, or are there any differences?

That filter above seems to work fine now, even when not selecting BOB. However, I'm not putting in the extra channels into the overlay like GBPVR would be, so it's not an exact duplicate.
