Hello all,

It was fairly easy to do so with the wintv application (I have a Hauppauge PVR-USB-2 card) to backup my VHS tape, but now I just cant find any info on the subjet for GBPVR.

Anyone have done that? Hopefully somebody can guide me throught this Smile

Thanks for your time!

You're probably better off backing up VHS tapes in WinTV. Its much better suited to this task.

That said, you can view the "composite in" by setting up an additional capture source for the card, set the input to the 'composite', set the EPG to none, then hit the Update EPG button (to force it to save the capture source), then manually add a channel called "AV1" or "Composite" something similiar. It'll then show up as a channel like all the others.

Excellent... Thanks Sub...

Just curious - is it possible to record from a machine based source? I originally was going to use my tv out from my machine as input into the PVR card, but is there a way to avoid all that and record directly from a playing source on the machine? Im trying to record some game demos...

I dont know. There is probably utilities for doing that, but I'm guessing the wont be great for capturing full motion video. ie, they're probably more geared up for a couple of frames a second or so (capturing simple computer tutorials etc).

You can use a program called FRAPS for this, but it captures only semi-compressed video, making the file huge until you transcode it.

Maybe also check out camtasia for the same type of thing.

Thanks
