Quote:2. When selecting channels, some way to uncheck all channels at once.
A few enhancements like this are in my plans for the future.

Here in NZ we have very few channels, so its never been much of a problem.

Quote:3. Do I have to remove the channels from the listing so that they will not show up in the TV guide? I've checked only the ones I want but the guide shows all channels for my area lineup.
The TV Guide will only show channels that are enabled in one or more capture sources. Usually channels that havnt been mapped in the 'map digital channels to EPG channels' screen will auto disable themselves though.

Quote:4. How do I decrypt the encrypted channels??
I've never heard of it being possible in the US. It is often possible in the DVB parts of the world.

I am trying to set up my 1600 and 1800. Both cards exhibit the same behavior. I've narrowed down the frequencies that have stations and am only scanning those 4 frequencies. One of those carries NBC and CBS while another carries PBS and FOX. On two separate occasions, I've noticed that the preview window in the digital channel mapping section shows either CBS or FOX but those stations do not show up in the stations found list so I can't map them. Obviously the channels are there. I've been able to find them in MediaPortal and that app lists it. Any thoughts as to why it doesn't show up here?

Do a scan then post your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Here Sub, thanks for all the help. I've attached the two requested logs.
Just to help out your debug, the missing stations which do show up in config.exe.log are:

2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Found: 21 channels
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 1 VODDM
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 2 KTCADT
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 4 WCCODT // Does not show up
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 5 KSTPDT // Does not show up
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 11 KAREDT2
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 23 WUCWDT
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 29 WFTCDT

2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 202 KTCIDT2
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 203 KTCIDT3
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 204 KTCIDT4
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 208 KSTPDT2
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 216 KAREDT2
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 431 KSTPDT
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 432 KAREDT
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 433 WCCODT
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 434 KMSPDT
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 435 WUCWDT
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 436 WFTCDT
2008-07-16 19:34:38.500 VERBOSE [1] Existing channel: 440 KTCADT2

During the scan, apparently for the stations that do not show up, the pcr_PID and video_PID are '0':
eg:

<service>
<service_name>WCCO-DT</service_name>
<TSID>2141</TSID>
<service_ID>2</service_ID>
<service_type>0</service_type>
<pmt_PID>32</pmt_PID>
<pcr_PID>0</pcr_PID>
<video_PID>0</video_PID>
<major_channel_number>4</major_channel_number>
<minor_channel_number>1</minor_channel_number>
</service>

Unfortunately I'd probably need a 50MB or so full transport stream recording of one of these frequencies to be able to work out why its not finding these PIDs.

Would that just be a normal recording of that station? I could record from MediaPortal if that would help.

Hi Sub,

Using the logs, I was able to calculate the other tuning parameters. I just cut and paste the parameters from the found stations into the other stations and changed the relevant parameters and that seemed to work. I don't know if my calculations are region specific or not but at least for me, I was able to get all the stations now.

Sorry, I didnt see your reply two up. No, it would have had to have been a 'full transport stream' recording. There are some apps out there that produce this format (tsreader, dvbdream, dvbstreamexplorer etc)

Glad you got it working anyway though.
