Sorry for vagueness - this is a little hard to describe (and search for). I recorded the NFL overnight but as it's over 3 hours long I dont want to watch it in one sitting. When I stop watching the recording and do something else, GBPVR seems to be forgetting where I'm up to and doesn't start playback from where I left off. I'm trying 'resume' but it's not doing what I thought it would. What am I doing wrong?

Cheers

Nothing, as far as I can tell. It works correctly for me. What format do you record to? I use dvr-ms. You might check your logs, or post them here and hope someone looks them over. Are you starting the playback after the recording has finished or during the recording?

I record to TS. I gather you need to use the TS mux to take advantage of the multiple record function which I like a lot.

I'm playing once the recording is finished. Strangely, the 'resume' function plays from the start of the program not the start of the file. The 3 or so minutes padding at the start of the file is ignored. However, it doesn't play back from where I left it.

Any help will be appreciated.
Cheers

yeah i have pointed this out to sub in another thread
if you change in the config file the resume pop up works but resume from button under play doesnt work on ts files
so for now you have to set it to
<PromptForResume>true</PromptForResume>
<UseMenuResumeButton>false</UseMenuResumeButton>

in config file

Thanks for your advice. I'm experimenting with DVR-MS at the moment where the resume function works fine. Hopefully a new version (or patch) which fixes TS not resuming properly or DVR-MS not having multi-record functionality is forthcoming.

yeah sub is still improving the ts playback
advantage of ts is i can watch while its recording on the client you cant do that with dvrms and its with file sharing so its much more snappy response for me than it is with streaming
plus the multi record
so the only disadvantage so far is the resume so i will put up with the pop up for resume

just out of interest, what speed network are you running?

I can't watch a currently recording program as it's too stuttery, on 100m network (although, no problem with PCH)

nothing special
the strange thing is i cant play standard mpeg files recorded from pvr500 lucky its only prime on there

update i can evenb watch it on my laptop while recording over a wireless connection had to turn on packet burst in the advanced settings of laptop wireless

another thing to look at is the packet size in advanced settings on wired lan not sure if it makes that much difference but seemed to help

It'll be at least a few weeks away. I'm out of the country until then. You'll have to use the workaround mentioned above until then.

Just so you know, I'm having the same problem, but with all MPG systems...
