I've found what appears to be a bun in the AniLibrary plugin. If the computer running GBPVR has no network connection, PVRX2 will crash out on startup when it tries to load Anilibrary.dll. In my case, the network cable was unplugged.

I also had a crash bug when config.exe tried to load the anilibrary plugin during a scan for digital channels.

Unfortunately, I have logs for neither anymore because I was in the middle of several other changes and they crashed log files have rolled off the end. I'll try to recreate the issues in a few days if I don't hear you've already reproduced the problems.

So --

Moving forward, I'm thinking more and more seriously of removing the "Folder View" option from the plugin entirely.

It mostly duplicates the the built in Video Library (with some embellishments), and its original purpose of allowing the playback of files not found on AniDb is better served by the "Unlisted" menu option anyway.

As such, right now I look at it as a chunk of code that is just taking up memory and offers little in return. Kinda like Vista. (sorry, sorry, I'll stop that.)

At any rate, I recognize that my usage may not match others, so if users have any objections, please let me know.

Are we talking keiser, or just a normal dinner bun?

First -- sorry for the delay in replaying. I'm not sure how I missed your post earlier in the week.

I'll check into the network crash bug immediately.

I'm not sure how I can test the config crash though, since, lacking any digital channels for which to scan, I have no way to attempt to reproduce it. (At least, I don't think I do. I'll push some buttons and see what happens.) May need some log help on that one.

Blah.

So, it appears I can no longer link directly to a .EXE file. Inevitable, I suppose, and not without justification on the ISP's part, but still a pain.

I will have to repackage it inside a zip, which means extra steps for the user.

OK OK, one extra double click. But still. /grumble

I would like to take a quick look at the crash bug with no network that Gedanken reported above. Presuming I can get that fixed quickly, I'll package up 1.7.2 (inside a .zip this time) and post it this weekend.

Gedanken: I could not reproduce any errors with my network cable unplugged from the computer, but DID find a condition that would make it crash if a cable was unplugged elsewhere (between a router and modem, for example). Is this what you were seeing?

Sahkahnah: I updated the link on the wiki page to point to a .zip of the installation, and checked to be sure it downloaded OK. Sorry for the trouble, and the extra double-click.

That would be it. It was my uplink cable that was knocked loose.

Perfect!

Here are the logs from the config.exe crash. Not a whole lot of information....

Heh, not much at all.

It seems to be something do with the panel thingie, although that could just be a side effect of a different problem. Still, not sure why it isn't finding the panel.xml skin file. (Nor why it is loading the panel portions during config anyway.)

Any way you can suggest to recreate it? It ONLY happens when scanning for digital channels? (Which is just odd in itself...)

I belive the config tool loads PVRX2 because it tries to display video during the digital channel mapping. Not sure how to simulate that if you don't have a digital tuner.
