hey Martin - I gave ccextract a shot. Tried it twice, got 15% of the way then it froze. Seemed to be picking up CCs quite merrily but that's as far as it got.

hmmm ... i am wondering if there's an alternative to ccextractor that you might be able to recommend? :confused:

Sorry. I am not deaf so I actually don't use anything other than CCExtractor for testing purposes. It hasn't failed me though. However given the nature of mpeg-ts files I can imagine that there could be decoding issues if the timeline is not good or there are other ts problems. You might need to use, TSRemux, TS4NP or TSDoctor to "clean" the video file first.

Not an alternative, but you got one of the ccextractor developers here. Can you try without the GUI (just start ccextractor with the mpg file as parameter).

If that doesn't help I would offer to have a look at one of the files that freeze ccextractor.

ok weird thing going on here. It freezes on 15% or so.

I look at the .SRT. It's maybe 10KB.

ccExtractor freezes. So I kill the GUI and even get invited to send an Error report to Microsoft....

And guess what happens? the SRT starts increasing in size! Within a few minutes it's at 200KB!

It happens like this reliably everytime....:confused:

I was having the same freezing problem with ccextractor version 0.52. I've gone back to v0.50 and it has worked great.

BTW did it actually create the .srt file anyway? (mine only does it if I kill the GUI)
