Is it possible to pull the subtitles stream out of the TS when recording? I believe if gbpvr captures the whole stream they're there, but if it's doing the demux and only capturing the one program stream I don't think its grabbing the subtitle stream.

Subtitles or closed captions? All the ATSC and QAM streams I record included have closed captioning but it embedded as user data and not a separate stream.

All subtitle stream types are captured when GB-PVR records .ts file. It'll record north american closed captions as user data in the video stream itself. DVB and Teletext Subtitles are recorded as a separate stream inside the .ts file.

Hm... ok, then let me try asking another way, and yes I mean close captioning.

I've got cc turned on for playback, and it works fine for analog recordings. It does not seem to be there for HD/.ts recordings, or at least it doesn't display cc for those.

So, what am I doing wrong?

Sorry, there is no offical support for displaying closed captions during playback. It captures them, but only really because it required no work.

Unfortunately I cant test cc here, since its not used in New Zealand, so I've never spent time adding display support for them.

Ok... but it does show them correctly if I extract them as a srt (or whatever those subtitle files are) file. Guess I'll work up some post-processing method to do that automagically.

Thanks for the info!
