Playback hangs

Version 1.3.11, default codec, on Vista.
I think (meaning I',m not really sure) that this just srarted recently.
We havent been recording for about a month, but everything seemed to be OK then.
The video and sound halt while veiwing a recorded program.
When this happens the (forward, etc.) controls on the remote don't function properly.
Veiwing the same program again (after restsrting GBPVR) does not cause a hang at the same place - but it does hang again.

Any ideas?

You'll probably have to try other decoders if the system default ones have started causing problems. If it just starts out of the blue, this is usually a sign the default decoders have changed when some app has been added or removed from the machine.

Thanks for your quick response.
I just tried all the codecs in the config program with the following results:
Mpeg - no change
Mpeg2 - no change
Intervideo - no playback
HCW - no change

Is there something else I should be looking at?

If the problem is still there, then post the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

I specifically wanted the logs that shows the MPV decoder selected.

The attached logs were captured after changing codecs.

The problem still exists.

HOWEVER - I did discover something else.
All programs recorded within the last few weeks exhibit this situation.
Most of then hang early (a few minutes in). Some exit the playback entirely.

One program (recorded in February) does not appear to have the same problem.

To be honest, I dont know. Maybe your signal quality has reduced for some reason and you're now getting more errors in your recordings, to the point it can break playback.

You could be right, all of my recordings are from one local station (the Public Television channel).
I'll try some recordings from a stronger (more reliable) station - if I can find anything worth watching.
