Your database only shows analog channels. It does not show that you have any QAM channels.

not only that... i can't even get the analog channels to show up on GBPVR

also shouldn't the guide data be there even if the tv isn't showing anything
all i get is the channels from the EPG, shouldn't there be program data

alright... i found this thing called tuner assistant... hadn't read anything about that, but after i ran it I redid my capture devices, well i redid 1 analog device. this time it took quite a while to get the epg info... and now i have analog cable channels! all 70 of them, from what i can tell
though, after messing around so much with this stuff they are like channels 87-157, or something of that nature
is there a way to get rid of all the extra non working channels?

Next i tried to create a QAM capture device, I setup a different xml file for this, then ran the mapping... no luck

here's the logs for anyone that can help
thanks so much

Normally a north american user would not have to run the tuning assistant. Its only really needed for some European users where channel number dont match broadcast channel numbers.

In north america you'd typically just create a new analog capture source, selecting the HVR2250 device, set your EPG Source to 'Schedules Direct' and enter your username and password, hit the 'Update EPG' button (to pull in the channel list) then you're done.

If your channel numbers are in the wrong place, I'd delete you gbpvr.db3 database file, run up the config app, and setup your capture source again.

If its pulling in channels from Schedules Direct (or other EPG source) which you dont have, then it sounds like you need to log into the Schedules Direct website to edit your channel lineup to correctly match the channels you get (or edit the configuration files for you xmltv grabbber).

microsoft for analog and titan for digital

i can't say that the tuning asst helped for sure, i deleted the devicces and redid the channels at the same time, i think, i don't remember exactly

sub-

i am using microsoft and titantv with mc2 as the grabber
the problem might be that neither of these have QAM lineups.
I tried using the digital over the air line ups but to no avail

I haven't seen anyway to change their channels to match mine, not only that I don't know what channels GBPVR will attach to the QAM channels because wintv has attached different number each time (like 2035 and 2461) and my tvs attatch channels like 107.1 and 108.1

Also, something i discovered was, after i scanned for the QAM and got no channels I pressed cancel and when i got back to the config there was still only my analog device (ok this is normal), so i ran the scan again with a different channel line up just to try when no channels came up I pressed cancel and still only my analog device was there. I closed the program and when I reopened it there were 2 QAM devices created.
This is where I got the channels messed up as I said before
I have tried to close everything and delete the file you said sub, but it will not let me. says a program is using the file, but i've killed all the programs that are associated with gbpvr (as far as i can tell)

Any ideas?

I attached the logs and the channel file that whurlston asked for before, because I redid my wintv lineup and mapped my QAM channels on there.
Maybe now it will show that I have QAM channels

The logs show that GBPVR scans all available channels but never finds a valid digital signal. And your WinTV database still only shows analog channels. Do you know the frequency or channel number of a valid QAM channel?

I know for my 2 tvs (one vizio and one magnavox) they have the same channels for QAM... channels are 105.1, 105.2, 107.1, 108.1, 108.2 and a few others that i don't watch.

I tried your center freq scan (70-138) setup last night and that didn't work, then your scan by feq (70+) and that didn't work either. No change, i would post the logs but i'm at work

I don't know why my wintv file doesn't show QAM channels, they work great!
Is their maybe a new or different file that might show these channels?
because after I scanned i think it said I had 341 digital channels, all clear QAM
but only about 15 have an actual signal coming through, and after I did the mapping I think I only kept about 10 (abc, fox, nbc, cbs, pbs etc)

what program do you use to read the hcw_chanDB_5 file?

oh and one last quick thing, i uninstalled gbpvr and reinstalled before the last logs i gave you, and when i tried to delete the logs folder before I reinstalled, it wouldn't let me... said some prog was using one of them... and thoughts?

The .mdb extension is for Microsoft Access files. I opened it in Access 2003 without difficulty. It says you only have analog channels. If you are certain that you see QAM, then either you have the wrong .mdb file, or they've changed the way they store the data.

Recording service may still have been running (I always stop the Recording service and close GBPVRTray) Alternatively, you may have had a File Explorer window open to that folder. If you really want to know - search for Unlocker - it will tell you which program has an open handle and why you can't delete folders/files.
