Hello

I have a DVB-T 399UR PlusTV from kworld (can record 2 programs at once) used with the latest version of gbpvr - 1.4.7. I am located in Melbourne Australia and am looking for help or advice on the follwing:

1. The EPG source in the config is set to DVB EPG Broadcast.....this works as I get data for all channels except our local channel 9......Always displays "no show details"....only this one channel

2. If I record non hd channels, the playback is perfect but if I record any hd channel, I cannot play it back on the pc nor will it stream to my tv. When starting the playback.....I will see a few moving frames with audio but then it just freezes

My system is win xp pro sp3
1gb ram
sys disk = 160gb
250gb dedicated recording disk

Any help or assistance with the above 2 issues would be greatly appreciated as no doubt you can tell from my wording I am very new to this.

Thanks and regards

Tony

I'm not sure why that would be. Are you sure they're transmitting the DVB EPG?

This is most likely related to the combination of audio/video decoders you're using, so try other decoders.

Hi Sub,
How do I check if they're transmitting the EPG....I mean I click on the update epg button and see scans taking place with 60 second timeouts. I have a 21 day eval version of sagetv installed and it picks up our local channel 9 epg...also the kworld app hypermedia centre 3.6 that came with my tv plus unit also shows the epg for channel 9......which leads me to think there is an issue with gbpvr.....are there any logs or something you can suggest that I can do to troubleshoot this as I much prefer using gbpvr....terrific app.

As for the hd recording problem...yes I suspected you would suggest a codec problem of some sought....I will look further into this.

Again thanks for your response and I look forward to your troubleshooting suggestions.

Regards

Tony

The logs are usually in the folder ...

Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\logs

Use config to do a grab/scan of the DVB EPG and then post the two config logs that show that scan.

You'll need to set your logging level back to 'debug', then reproduce the error and repost the logs.

You could try editing config.xml (using Notepad) and doubling the value in ...

<DvbEpgHarvestDuration>

From memory, I think that this is the number of seconds spent listening for EPG data on each mux.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for your reply.....I did as you suggested, doubled the value to 120 seconds and re-scanned but still "no show details". I have attached a small screen dump clearly showing what I mean with this one channel.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

We've exhausted my limited expertise.

If you want to get your hands dirty and give yourself a headache, there is this ...

Most of tsreader is a yard and a half above my head.

I expect someone will be along soon who can actually say something helpful.
