You mean with HE-AAC audio? Does W7 have a built in codec for that too? If so, it's looking more & more appealing to retire XP.

Sorry, Jonny, I appear to have forgotten that I must have done a transcribe of an older ts file to get audio om MCE. I just recorded another bit off TV7 and no audio. Situation normal!!

Isn't it damned frustrating that we have been left in limbo over this issue?

Yeah, but to be fair - freeview were hardly targeting the HTPC / DVR market when they did their specs, and my Samsung does an excellent job of playing freeviewHD on it's inbuilt tuner.

I just wish Syabas would get the new binaries loaded, and have a firmware with HE-AAC decoding, but again - not a high priority for them either - not enough users.

I'm installing Win 7 RC now, to see how it goes with GBPVR.

Fair comments - but still frustrating!!

GBPVR runs fine with W7. Biggest problem is finding all those codecs you cobbled together to get vid/sound going!

Have fun.

Martin, I have installed the three progs. I can run web radio OK and can choose a subset but when I try to play a station, it drops back to the menu.

Logs attached. pvrx2.exe.log, at 11:34, shows something missing.

Hi Lindsay,

The default for the PC is to use winamp, and you probably don't have it installed. To use VLC has the player follow the instructions on the wiki for adding an external player http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/WebRadio If you don't want to bother and you are trying from you PCH for the LATM test VLC will be used by UbuRecordingService by default.

Not sure I follow correctly. I was just trying to test the AAC conversion. Don't really want scads of players installed but anything for the cause!!

How do I test the AAC thingy?

You need to install the programs I posted earlier http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=10 Installing VLC is all that is necessary, there is no need to install Winamp, the AAC testing will be on the PCH.

Ok good, but it looks like your test was from the PC and not PCH. I think WebRadio is setup for testing now, confirm and I will explain how to test LATM.
