Hardware Mobo ASYS P5N7A-VM Onboard sound Realtek and graphics Nvidia 9300. XPSP3
2 dual Hauppauge capture cards recording digital channels
Just installed GB-PVR 1.4.7
After install of Monogram codec all running well except 1 channel NZ “Prime”
Live TV on all channels is great
When playing back “Prime” after few minutes it jumps forward sometime minutes & or picture locks but sound keeps going?
This is only an issue with this one channel
Back spacing will take me back to where the jump occurred and then it works fine for a while before jumping forward again so recording is clearly there
It’s just a playback issue i think
Any ideas

Prime is on the third mux, separate from the TVNZ and Canwest channels, so its possible you've got poor reception on that frequency.

Are you able to watch Maori TV or Te Reo without similar problems? These channels are on the same mux.

Live TV via GB on Prime & Maori channels no evident problems
I will record some Maori TV this afternoon when there is something on
Report back once I have viewed it.
I'm in Miramar

I have pretty crappy recording quality on Prime as well, also depends what tuner it comes off. Has the odd skip etc. Mine is most likely reception problems. And like you live tv is fine. I think live is a bit more tolerant of bad signal.

Yes you are right
Same problem with Maori TV
No issues with normal TV
But
Live TV via GB both Prime & Maori TV lock up
Sound keeps going but picture simply locks.
Recording of both jumps forward etc

That makes me think it's reception. Just because you had good signal on Prime UHF before digital doesn't mean the digital signal is the best. Most digital devices want signals in the 90% mark.

Do you have a freeview tv or stb there or just a tv tuner? You can't get good meter readings off a tv tuner.

I have Freeview TV’s and get great digital reception problem free
Hence my pondering as to why I can’t record it
All my TV’s are Freeview and all have great reception
the same feed is also going to my 2 dual channel Hauppauge capture cards

What quality/signal strength do you get on your tv on prime?

For what it's worth, I have an IDTV as well on about 85% - 95% signal, and have issues with prime myself (on a tv tuner)....although the tv does a much better job of dealing with those issues.

I have checked as best possible and it appears I get a good signal BUT subject to some random interference from aircraft
I have reinstalled GB twice now and still the issue remains with Prime.

Is there some plug-in player that will play this recording problem free?
OR
Does this mean I have to settle for NO Prime etc?

Sounds like the issue that I am having, often with no noticable picture break up etc. see the following thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=44786
Am I right in thinking that you are using the TS Mux?
